To his mother he is
her “little Donald” – a boy she describes as “very strong-minded, very special,
independent and opinionated.”

But to the United
States he will soon be the “first boy.”
Barron Trump, 10,
will become the first boy since John F Kennedy Jr to live in the White House.
Born the year after
Donald Trump’s marriage to Melania, the youngest Trump’s name appears to have
emerged from a preferred pseudonym of Mr Trump. For
three decades, until the 1990s, "John Miller" and "John
Barron", two public relations men, loved to boast to journalists of Mr
Trump's success with business and women.
Barron has spent his
life living in Trump Tower, where he has a whole floor to himself – close to
his grandparents. He speaks Slovenian with them and with his mother.
“He has his playroom
and he has his pictures and art and all of his stuff,” she said, in a 2006 interview with Parenting magazine.
“And since he has his
own floor, he can also put those things on his living room and on his own
walls.”
She said he was
obsessed with golf and helicopters – unsurprising, seeing as his father owns a
$7 million one.
“Sometimes we play
together and build cities or airports using Magna Tiles and Legos. He builds
big projects,” said his mother, noting proudly how he takes after his
father.
He also takes after
his mother – she lavishes him with her own-brand caviar moisturizer, and
ensures that he is always dressed in suit and tie.
He currently attends
the private Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School, in Manhattan, but could
end up a pupil at Sidwell Friends – a school which has for the past 35 years
educated all the children of presidents. Others, however, speculate that he
could actually remain in New York with his grandparents and stay at the same
school
