Mother to sell kidney to save small daughter

A mother in Nam Dinh Province has said she would put her kidney up for sale to raise fund to help her two-year-old daughter who is deaf to hear again.
Pham Thi Nhu Quynh is deaf in both ears and struggles to speak. A cochlear implant will help her hear again and will help her learn to speak. However, the cost for the operation on both ears is VND560m (USD25,000).
"I could only bring her home. I’ve never dreamt of having so much money. I had to sell our last bags of rice in order to take her to hospital," Dinh Thi La, Quynh's mother said.

La said she was planning to sell her kidney to raise fund because that's the only way she could think of.
Quynh's grandfather is in last stage of liver cancer and his only wish is for Quynh to hear the world. Her father has had thalassemia for years. "Her father hasn't been able to go to hospital for the last three to four years. His skin is turning blue but we don't have the money," La said.

According to doctors, this is the best time for cochlear implant surgery, which makes La become even more frustrated.
"When I went to hospital, I heard some people said that selling kidney would get lots of money so I want to sell mine. But I don't even know how to do it," La said. She went on to say that she didn't want her daughter to be disabled.
Quynh's father also said he didn't care about his health and would trade anything for Quynh to be able to hear.
