Vietnamese violinist wins first prize at international competition

Vietnamese violinist Tran Le Quang Tien from the Vietnam Academy of Music won first prize in the junior group of the 6th International Violin Competition held in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Tien has been studying with renowned violinist Bui Cong Duy at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
Under the guidance of violinist Bui Cong Duy, Tien also won first prize at the Mozart Violin Competition held in Thailand two years ago.
The competition attracted 40 talented young violinists, demonstrating their skills by performing classical masterpieces by Bach, Paganini, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich.
According to organizers, the main goal of the competition is to hone young participant’s skills and promote classical music./.
